This method is applicable to all modal and blues progressions. The student will be able to transpose the entire piece to any key. The student will be able to duplicate the entire piece. The student will be able to imitate the entire piece by ear and then by transposing to any key. The student will be able to learn and play the music of the Bird.
The book contains a listing of all 8 of the tracks from the second CD. These are played in order - the fastest to the slowest. There is a method to this madness. The student will play through the entire piece three times at different tempos. This is a very effective way to learn and develop your ear. With three repetitions at varying tempos, you can learn to recognize and measure tempos in any key. The student will also learn the order of the Blues/Modal progressions used as the Blues/Modal progressions are shown at the end of the book. The student will have learned the technique of making smooth transitions from one section to the next. The student will have learned the rhythm section and will be able to duplicate or transpose the entire piece. The student will have learned the basic technique of how to listen to the music as a whole.
