CountryTraceRoute helps to diagnose the path and delay of information across the internet. The program is similar to the command-line tracert but much faster. CountryTraceRoute also displays the country of the owner of every IP address found in the traceroute, and ASN Network Carrier information per hop. After the traceroute is completed, you can select all items (Ctrl+A) and then save them into csv/tab-delimited/html/xml file with 'Save Selected Items' option (Ctrl+S) or copy them to the clipboard (Ctrl+C) and then paste the result into Excel or other spreadsheet application.
Little-known freeware Traceroute utilities: vTrace and TroutIn the category of forgotten oldies-but-goodies, besides vTrace cited before, i would like to mention another real jewel: Robin Keir's tiny Trout traceroute.Written circa 2000, this minuscule (33k) program is still running with aplomb 13 years later (under Win XP, at least), just as fast as Nirsoft's CountryTraceroute, and boasts a built-in Whois lookup to boot. Admittedly, it does lack Nirsoft Trace more polished user interface and nifty hosts name Geographical information lookup.vTrace, on the other hand, fits more in the medium-weight category (1M), but offers multiple additional functions (usually restricted to commercial software), such as: Ping, Whois, DNS records, animated path tracing over geographic map, and, most notably, the elusive ASN number and network provider name look up.Both well worth a try:Trout -tools/trout.aspxvTrace __philippe
Among the four network utilities listed on PF board which include traceroute function (CountryTraceRoute 3D Traceroute Etoolz HoverIP), the one I recommend is Nirsoft's CountryTraceRoute (for its small size, blinding fast execution, informative Geographic data displayed for each hop traversed). However, 3D Traceroute has one distinctive feature not found in ANY other networking freeware anywhere (except for the little-known Vtrace from ): its traceroute will look up and display the ASN (Autonomous System) number for each hop traversed. (The ASN is used to identify each network provider along the trace.) Wish Nirsoft would also integrate this capability into their excellent CountryTraceroute in future release.Perhaps if enough current users show interest, Nir will oblige __philippe
CountryTraceRoute is a Traceroute utility, similar to the tool tracert of Windows, but with graphical user interface, and it is also much faster than tracert of Windows. CountryTraceRoute also displays the country of the owner of every IP address found in the Traceroute.
CountryTraceRoute has IP database country to display the country name for every IP address found in Tarceroute. However, if you want to use IP database is updated the most for the country, you can download a file IP To Country latest from the following link: -ip/
The objective of a graphical traceroute is to discover each server relaying your IP packet from point to another, and to measure the return-trip delay between the probing host (here G Suite.Tools) and each relay on the packet path.
G Suite.Tools' visual traceroute online app makes it easy to precisely pinpoint weak nodes impacting your global network performance. In addition to determining the response time of each hop the packet is travelling through, you're now able to visualize in full screen the path of each probe ping between our server and the tested IP address within Google Maps in a instant.
The traceroute tool will then send from 1 to 30 IP packets to the target, incrementing the Time-To-Live (TTL) for each probe ping, starting from TTL 1. In this networking context, the TTL defines the maximum number of hops a packet can be relayed through during its travel over the Internet. Thus, each probe will incrementally reach one relay further than the previous ping. When a packet reaches a network node and gets its TTL credit down to 0, it will stop there and elicit a TIME_EXCEEDED response to be sent back to the ping's origin (G Suite.Tools). That's how our tool can measure the response time of each node within the path of an IP packet.
However, if you notice delays or time outs at the very end of the traceroute, there's a chance that something's wrong with one of your infrastructure nodes as those hops are the last one before reaching your target. In that case, I advise you to check if:
This graphical traceroute implementation is set up to track the path of an IP packet to a maximum of 30 hops. These raw ICMP echoes are in the form of ECHO_REQUEST datagrams, eliciting an ICMP TIME_EXCEEDED response from the last hop on the complete trip of a probing packet. The program will wait no more than 2 s before timing out waiting for such TIME_EXCEEDED response packets.
